Prof. Vladimir S. Anashin gave the lecture named “On the Ergodic Theory of Automata” at AMSS on Nov. 22, 2011. Researchers and graduates of National Center for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences (NCMIS), CAS attended the event. Prof. WANG Yuefei presided over the meeting.
The talk concerned the ergodic theory for automata maps. The latter maps could be considered as 1-Lipschitz maps on the space of p-adic integers. Recent results were discussed, as well as a new one, automaton finiteness criterion in terms of van der Put series. The latter criterion revealed connections with the algebraicity of formal power series over over-finite fields and with Christol's theorem.
Prof. Vladimir S. Anashin is the Chief Scientist of the Institute of Information Security, Lomonosov Moscow State University. He is one of pioneers who apply algebras dynamical system to cryptography research. His research fields cover group theory, ring theory, polynomial algebras, p ergodic theory with its applications in cryptography and computer science. His research directly leads to the design of ABC synchronous stream cipher and algebras dynamical system in T function research.
