Prof. CHEN Hanfu was appointed as an Academician of IASCYS by the International Federation for Systems Research (IFSR) and the International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences (IASCYS) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to research and practice in systems and cybernetic sciences.

Prof. CHEN Hanfu was elected as the Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1993, the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Fellow in 1996, the Third World Academy of Sciences Fellow in 2005, and the IFAC (the International Federation of Automatic Control) Fellow in 2006.His research interest are stochastic systems, adaptive control and system identification, stochastic approximation and its applications to signal processing and communication, etc. He was the Chairman of Chinese Association of Automation in 1993-2002, the Standing Director of Chinese Mathematical Society in 1993-1999, and the Council Member of IFAC in 2002-2005.
