2014-09-09 CAS Academician Prof. GUO Lei gave a plenary lecture at the 19th World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC 2014) , held in Cape Town, South Africa. In the lecture named “How much uncertainty can the feedback mechanism deal with?” , Prof. GUO Lei and his collaborators mainly considered discrete-time (or sampled-data) nonlinear dynamical control systems with both structural and environmental uncertainties. They presented a series of “Critical Values” and “Impossibility Theorems” concerning the maximum capability of the feedback mechanism for several basic classes of uncertain nonlinear control systems, and expanded on their theoretical implications as well as their practical significances. The IFAC, founded in September 1957, is a multinational federation of National Member Organizations (NMOs), each one representing the engineering and scientific societies concerned with automatic control in its own country. |
